“PROUD 2 B” WATTTTT???

(Beware…unedited content… point out any kinda mistakes dat u find..plssss )

(its raining posts...!!! so i need u 2 go thru all de updates...!!! dis is de second one 4 de weekend)

“Nothing has been left undone, by either man or nature,2 make India de most extraordinary country de sun visits on his sounds”- Mark Twain

I typed in with full speed and without a second thought, hit the send button…and there went a ‘patriotic’ message to half the contacts in ma list. Within minutes I got the first comment,”wow”.

Getting a reply to forwarded messages is something that lets the sender free of regrets (de regret of havin wasted a penny on an sms).

I captured the marvellous quote while flicking through the Independence Day spl edition of Outlook

The smile soon vanished. I accidentally re-read what I had sent. Gosh!!! I had typed it wrong…misspelt ‘rounds’ as ‘sounds’.

“Nothing has been left undone, by either man or nature,2 make India de most extraordinary country de sun visits on his rounds”- Mark Twain

‘Hi hi…’ was de new expression dat drove in within another couple of seconds…

Probably none of the sloths bothered to actually skim through the entire message…hence not a single fathead spotted de error…or dats de way every forwarded message is treated.

No no…Im not trying to call myself a patriot…!!! 2 b honest… not a single extra drop of adrenaline surged through ma body on August 15…DONNO which nook of ma brain is serving as a hideout 4 my patriotism …the only reason why I forwarded de sms was ‘I had a huge (free)sms balance’.

I was more or less feeling frustrated thinking about August 15!!! When more than 1,129,866,153 ‘brothers n sisters’ r gonna celebrate de Independence Day…I had to sit tight-lipped attending a workshop on PSBH (Problem Solving 4 Better Health) hosted by our department of Social and Preventive Medicine. Where is my freedom to sit home…watching a documentary on nationalism…or a wonderful movie like Kalapani (de Priyadarshan flick)…or searching 4 a channel whose makers are kind enough 2 telecast Gandhi(1982) by Richard Attenboroughor sleep wid one of de tracks from Vante Mataram (by A R Rahman) playing aloud…or listening to de blah blahs of crooked khadi wearing patriots!!!

If u r one true chauvinist who has already started to turn red reading all these lines…tell me how a true patriot must feel on de wonderful day… I am one proud Indian…donno what de level of freedom I enjoy…donno how much I misuse something dat cost ages n lives 2 achieve…

I am fed up of speeches and articles highlighting de beauty of India…what right do v I hav 2 sit back relaxed…’feeling good’ dat u r part of de world’s greatest democracy…de finest example of ‘unity in diversity’…?

A scanned image from The Hindu(july 26,2008)

De worst part is de weirdest feeling of being screwed up wen u r out 2 do sumthin n den sum1 tellin ye “son…u can’t change it yerself”…!!!

This is what I’ve decided… (Not just another Monday special resolution)…do my job…at least that…n dat includes: 1) as a medico…make ma parents proud…become de right person 2 wear a stethoscope…!!!

2)as a blogger…post this (wat at least few will think is ‘crap’) n sit assured dat der will b sum1 out dere in dis blogosphere who will understand wat I was trying 2 tell…!!!

(dis is being posted at a time wen im feeling weird…simply weird…sorry 4 de bad language…n de ‘chatroom’ slang here…never intended…perhaps I may delete it soon…

N can’t help praising this gal Priya Joyce…had a chat wid her few hours ago…felt so happy dat there r still people who really CARE about spreading awareness…no no..dis ain’t sarcasm I mean it…)

I think you have said what I am trying to say from long ago.
If only everybody does their jobs perfectly and honestly then India would be in one of the developed countries.
All we need to do is to be honest and think of our country's progress for every new step we take. "take cara of small things big ones will fall in place by itself"
Thanx for the praise frnd.

hmm..i am one of those idiots who reads all the forwards....but i don't get many :) hmm...the quote i think ppl wouldn't know such things... what difference is a alphabet going to make?

yes everyone needs to do the job...you cannot change people but you can be the catalyst in changing them.. :)

well, that was a good read...

I was thinkin of the celebrate-thru-sms trend. Its kind of mechanical, right?...just arising out of our desire to follow the crowd..do we actually mean what we say? have the words lost their magic..does sms do something to them that makes them lifeless...? or is it we who r to be blamed? or is it the 'syndicate'[i dont knw wat that means..but u hear a lot of it now..seems like someone who can be blamed for anything]ah leave it...!!

Sms phenomenon has infiltrated into our life and irreversilbly intertwined with it..is it good or bad? well to answer that we have to devise some Double-blinded randomised control trial or at least a case-control,what do ya say nithin..he he...can we frame a research qn?;)

and abt we if we did our jobs well..everything would be better thing...ya definitely it would be..
but wat now comes to my mind is matrix "U r in a dream world neo!" lets say its an utopian idea...everyone is not going to do their job well..! its genetics!
yes we still hope for a better world...!

Yep, If only all of us do our own work properly, I think a lot of things would fall into place... Tiny droplets make an ocean after all.

the no of posts I read bout independence day urs was the best ..yes smsing is many a times treated like dat ppl dun really bother to check out they jus delete it or they forward it and delete it ...I also sent the mssg to a list f frnds and forgot to see tht vodafone walon ne Rs 1 kar diya tha instead f 2paise per sms cz it was independence day ...ROFL :D

I din understnd the logic ..!
and yes if ppl start doing there jobs ..india wud be the best country !

remember the dialouge from rang de basanti

"koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota usse perfect banana padta hai !"
